Turkey and Australia Discussed Possibilities for Cooperation in Polar Research

Mr. Miles Armitage, Australia’s Ambassador to Turkey, paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, President of the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM).

During the meeting, detailed information was shared about Turkey’s polar research program. In addition, opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the polar regions were discussed.

The visit is seen as an important step toward strengthening scientific cooperation between Turkey and Australia and developing joint projects in polar research. Prof. Dr. Özsoy briefed Ambassador Armitage on the projects currently being carried out by TÜBİTAK MAM and its future goals, and discussed potential opportunities for collaboration.
