In 2019, with the establishment of the Institute of Polar Research at the Marmara Research Center of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK MAM KARE), a scientific organizational structure was put in place to serve as an institutional umbrella in our country. Our Institute, which is responsible for carrying out numerous research projects and activities—ranging from the implementation of the 2018–2022 National Polar Science Program to the execution of scientific polar expeditions—is organizing The Sixth National Polar Sciences Workshop is scheduled to take place on November 30–December 1, 2022, at Karadeniz Technical University.
