In line with our vision to be among the leading countries in the world with its original scientific studies on polar sciences, the “National Polar Science Program (2018-2022)” (pdf) was prepared and put into effect by the Ministry of Industry and Technology on 27.12.2017. The main objectives of this program are to organize national expeditions to the polar regions under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (KARE), to implement the National Polar Science Program, to establish bilateral collaborations on polar sciences, to send our scientists to the science bases of other countries and to establish a Turkish science base in Antarctica.
In line with these objectives, and with the aim of ensuring the implementation of R&D and scientific research activities related to the Priority Research Themes identified in the National Polar Science Program, this document is intended to determine which polar projects can be carried out—whether or not they involve participation in the National Science Expeditions (TAE: National Antarctic Science Expedition, TASE: National Arctic Science Expedition)—whether or not they involve participation in these expeditions—the KUTUP 1001-2022 Call for Proposals has been launched. The deadline for completing the online application and the e-signature process has been set as March 31, 2022. For detailed information regarding the call, click here
